§27.1 Where an accused fails to appear in criminal proceedings, the Court may:
- (a) adjourn the matter;
- (b) proceed in absentia;
- (c) issue further orders as permitted by law.
§27.2 The Court shall exercise caution in proceeding in absentia and shall consider:
- (a) the seriousness of the charges;
- (b) the reasons for non-appearance;
- (c) the interests of justice.
