The ordering of restitution payments shall not restrict or preclude any victim of a crime from seeking further damages in a civil lawsuit, however, any restitution payments already made or outstanding must be accounted for when determining damages in any such lawsuits. No person shall be required to pay for direct or indirect losses twice as a result of criminal restitution and a civil lawsuit.
