Upon the hearing of an appeal, the Supreme Court or other court sitting in an appellate capacity may affirm the judgment in whole, reverse a judgment or order in whole or in part, or modify such a judgment or order. The court may remand the proceeding to a lower court to correct a sentence or order, or may vacate a plea or final verdict and order that a new trial be held.
