All specifications shall be attached, except in cases where attaching a specification is contrary to law. Specifications may only be detached where it is explicitly required by law. Detached specifications shall constitute separate criminal offenses for the purposes of sentencing, with the following classifications—

(1) if the offender is found guilty of a Capital Offense or First-Degree Felony, each detached specification associated with such offense shall be a Second-Degree Felony;

(2) if the offender is found guilty of a Second-Degree Felony or Third-Degree Felony, each detached specification associated with such offense shall be a Fourth-Degree Felony;

(3) if the offender is found guilty of a Fourth-Degree Felony, or of a Misdemeanor, each detached specification associated with such offense shall be a Second-Degree Misdemeanor.
