Specifications must be alleged in a charging instrument, and must be attached to or associated with the charge or charges to which they are applicable. No person may be found guilty of a specification while being found not guilty of the criminal offenses alleged in the charging instrument, nor charged with any specification without any other criminal charges being brought against them.
