As used in this subchapter—
(1) “Specification” means a particular finding of a court which is an aggravating factor, which influences the classification of a given offense or is treated as a separate criminal offense for the purposes of sentencing.
(2) “Attached specification” means a specification attached to a criminal offense, which influences the classification of the offense.
(3) “Detached specification” means a specification which is treated as a separate criminal offense for the purposes of sentencing, whether several specifications (including multiple of the same specification) are applicable, or if the offense may not be escalated as a matter of law.
(4) “Same offense” means an offense defined in federal or state law which has the same, or a substantially similar, definition.
