(a) Firearms shall be classified into the following categories:

(1) Class I – Non-semi-automatic firearms suitable for sporting and agricultural use;

(2) Class II – Semi-automatic firearms with limited magazine capacity;

(3) Class III – Military-style or rapid-fire weapons.

(b) Civilian possession shall be limited to Class I and Class II firearms.

(c) Class III firearms are prohibited for civilian ownership unless expressly authorized by Congress for service in the armed forces or other official capacity.
