(a) A person is guilty of the offense of Campaign Canvassing when they engage in canvassing in order to solicit votes for a particular candidate or political party, or to solicit voters to vote for or against a binding referendum question.

(b) Campaign Canvassing is a First-Degree Misdemeanor.

(c) It is no defense to a prosecution for Campaign Canvassing that the person or persons solicited were members of the same political party, coalition, or other organization as the Defendant.
