(a) A person is guilty of the offense of Bribery of a Witness when, knowing that a person is or will be called as a witness in a proceeding, they—
(1) give, offer to give, or promise any money, job, position, benefit, or other thing or item of actual or perceived value in exchange for altering their testimony or lying during any judicial proceedings or depositions, or in exchange for refraining from testifying or appearing during a proceeding; or
(2) as a witness, or a person who knows they will be called as a witness in a proceeding, they solicit, accept, agree to accept, or promise to accept any money, job, position, benefit, or other thing or item of actual or perceived value in exchange for altering their testimony or lying during any judicial proceedings or depositions, or in exchange for refraining from testifying or appearing during a proceeding.
(b) Bribery of a Witness is a Third-Degree Felony.
