(a) A person is guilty of conspiring to commit an offense when they, with the intent to perform conduct which constitutes a crime, agrees with one or more persons to engage in or cause the performance of such conduct.
(b) Conspiracy to commit an offense shall be equivalent in classification to committing the offense which is the object of the conspiracy.
(c) In any prosecution for conspiring to commit an offense, it is an affirmative defense that—
(1) after conspiring to commit an offense, the Defendant thwarted the success of the conspiracy under circumstances manifesting a complete and voluntary renunciation of the criminal purpose of the conspiracy; or
(2) after conspiring to commit an offense, the Defendant abandoned the conspiracy prior to the commission of, or attempt to commit, any offense which was the object of the conspiracy, either by advising their co-conspirators of their abandonment, or by informing law enforcement of the existence of the conspiracy, and of their involvement in it.
