(a) The KCSS shall have nationwide jurisdiction over:

(1) Violations of federal criminal law;

(2) Crimes affecting national security;

(3) Crimes against federal institutions or officials;

(4) Interstate or multi-regional offenses;

(5) Any matter assigned by federal statute.

(b) The KCSS shall not exercise authority over purely regional matters unless a federal offense is implicated.
